Today’s enso. Traditionally these are done in one stroke, but I’ve taken the liberty of using more than one. At least I am limiting my use of color and the mark-making.

Project 10
Today’s enso is the first in a little series that fits in one of dad’s old cigar boxes.
I’ve been making things that fit into dad’s cigar boxes for as long as I can remember. I once made a tiny dollhouse in a small wooden one.
Project 2
Today, I made a series of watercolor and ink drawings that fit into a Jila mint box given to me on our Qantas flight from Oz to the States. There are 21 drawings (plus a legend explaining each one) about first discovering Jila mints.
It is a “story” about the trip to the convenience store, discovering the mints, and the experience of tasting them. While I was — in a way — illustrating this story, I wanted to keep each drawing abstract.
